An Interview with a Lunarpages Customer Support Supervisor

Hiya Matt. Happy 2011!  Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions so we can learn more about you…

So tell us, what is your official job title here at LP?

Matt: I am a Customer Support Supervisor.

It feels like you have worked here forever! How did you come to join Lunarpages?

Matt: My wife and I chose Lunarpages to host our site about 7 years ago, she was looking over lunarpages.com and came across the jobs section and recommended that I apply!

I know you’re always incredibly busy, but fill us in on your day to day tasks.

Matt: I manage a team of remote staff members, maintain assigned desk queues, work with reseller accounts and assist techs with information. I monitor the social media pages and work with feedback.

How many remotes do you manage?

Matt: Currently 4.

Do you find it challenging working and communicating online?

Matt: I do at times, you certainly miss personal interactions but it has been a great experience.

Have you worked in any other departments at Lunarpages?

Matt: I started as a CSR1 and have worked up to being a CSR Supervisor.

Who is the most fun to work with of all the LP crew?

Matt: Everyone has been great to work with, but I would have to say Tony N always makes me smile. He has such a fun personality that really comes through via chat and online interactions etc.

We recently got you involved with supporting our social media (Twitter/Facebook). What do you like about that aspect of your job?

Matt: I think it has been a great avenue for support and feedback, being able to help people almost directly and have the way we handle support and what we have to offer be seen by more people.

What did you do before Lunarpages?

Matt: I was a freelance designer and webmaster for a few years prior.

Do you host any websites with Lunarpages? If yes, what are they?

Matt: Currently just a test site, some sites we began I have stopped as I have not had time to maintain them.

What do you like to do in any other spare time you find?

Matt: Trying to save for continued pilot lessons.  I have taken a few and would to get my pilot’s license.

If you weren’t working here, where do you think you’d be?

Matt: I would definitely be in the technology field, I have always enjoyed working with computers and software.

What do you see as the future of hosting technology in 2011 and beyond?

Matt: With hosting technology evolving rapidly it’s difficult to tell what is around the corner. Hosting seems to adapt fairly easily to new technology but I see more being developed for support, better, faster ways to communicate and work with customers.
