LunarPicks September – Winning the Lottery, What Would you Change?

It’s that time of year when Christmas is looming, people are thinking about vacations, tax time, and the endless flood of bills.  This is the time we all dream of winning or unexpectedly receiving a large some of money. This month’s Lunar Pick is:

If you won the lottery or came into a large sum of money, what would you change about your life?

Monty - I prefer to stay the same way but may save some in bank.

Shawn – I would change my spending habits. Yeah – they would change for sure!

Roy – If I won the Lottery, I would buy a nice house, invest in something and maybe even buy my own sports bar and grill. But the first thing that I would do is set up a College fund for my nephew and my future nephew or niece.

Greg – Work wise – nothing

Family wise – new home and share with other family members

Community wise – assist feeding and housing those less fortunate

Recreation

Joe - I would wish to divide that money into 3 parts: Putting the first part into my bank account for some interest, investing the second part on some franchise business and stock markets, and using the last part for traveling with my family…on the second thought, I would love to buy another lottery ticket to get a chance to win more money on that, LOL :)

Amy – No lotto dreams for me :( My cousin already one the lotto twice (1st and 2nd division), so she has totally wrecked my odds at winning it!

Katrina - Pay off the bills, ship my trailer and me to Fiji,  and get my own boy toy. Maybe Demi has a spare. ;-)

RAT – Pay off all debts and make sure my family was taken care of for their lifetime and the rest would be invested and given to charities.

Renee – I will spend less time on my job bit more time for my family.

Giovanni – My life wouldn’t change much.  I think that I would use the money to pay-off my house and help people.

What would you do if you won a stack of cash?

Depending on the amount, we’d pay off the house, set aside enough in the bank for the future, then establish a non-profit foundation for Native American scholarships and other causes of importance to us.

I would give the first 10% to be used for God’s work, then become debt free, save some for a rainy day, Take my friends and family on an awesome vacation. Any left place it where it could do most good.

    (1) I would set up a fund to pay for the end-of-life care for political activist prisoners released from long-term incarceration. (2) Also, I would pay for undergraduate study for some of my fantastic, but poor, students. (3) If I won a serious lot of money, I would also open up a large affordable housing building in NYC for undocumented immigrants with AIDS.

When we win the Lotto (any day now) we have plans of helping pets in need, especially cats, by building one of our nation’s most innovative rescue faculties. It will provide a safe, healthy, happy home to those in need, an adoption center, training faculty and so much more. It will be self sustainable once its launched.

Plans are already drawn for our dream home, especially designed for our little ones. A sound & digital art studio for me, a dance studio for my wife and just a few special “things” of value for us.
Come on big money for the sake of the little ones!!

Consult a tax planner and develop a strategy to give it away to sound research and charitable targets, understanding how to do so in order to keep the maximum amount away from the irresponsible fingers of the tax man. It’s the best way to maximize the spread of goodness as a result of my luck.

1st pay off some bills so I can keep doing pro bono & low income work, invest some for future, & use the rest to help my husband start Dirt ‘N Nails, his non-profit project to feed & house the homeless.

My husband and I fantasize about this all the time, and decided that after paying off our small debts and putting enough aside in savings/ionvestments to earn a little to support us, we’d set up a computer classroom, and provide intro computer classes to people who can’t afford classes elsewhere, older people and others of low incomes, to teach them how to get the most out of their computers, and keep them safe and running well. After that, we will give each graduated student a computer to take home. We’d run about ten 30-day classes every year and provide computers to all the people who complete the course until the money runs out. With a little luck, we’d find a couple of young students who would like to be trained to do the work my husband does, helping people with their computers at home, and set them up to work, too. If we had a big enough lottery winning, we’d travel around the country a little and open these “schools” in other areas so to help even more people.
