Lunar Picks – What Sites Do You Love?
Last month we asked about favorite websites and programs, however most of the responses seemed to be about applications and less about the websites.
Below are some sites our team seem keen (obsessed) with
Tony – One of my favorite sites is w3schools.com because of all the great tutorials they provide regarding our industry. But most of all because if you click on “Best Web Hosting” link, it redirects to lunarpages.com and I don’t recall us having a relationship with them. They just recognize skills!
Giovanni – wikipedia.org, because it has well documented information from reliable sources. It’s like an encyclopedia on the web.
Orlando - My Favorite web sites besides lunarpages.com are cualesmiip.com and whatismyip.com – “The Fastest, Easiest way to determine your IP address”
Ryan – My all time favorite website is electricdynamic.com. Why? Well, the design of this page is top notch. I especially enjoy the theme and feel of the site. It is also very interactive. To kick it off, it is all done in flash. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over to know that people still create sites in a semi-classical web development fashion instead of all the CMS that are out today.
Amy – I have a couple (apart from Lunarpages.com of course!) and they are HootSuite.com and TheOnion.com
Randy aka RAT – rattreks.com because it is mine and because it is a cool site with some awesome photos of waterfalls and mountains that I am very proud of :)
Monty - Except for Google.com, I would say Youtube.com. Many interesting videos can be found here so I spend sometime searching for some unique videos.
Kris – Pantip.com is a great community website in Thailand. There are various topics for every purpose, such as finances, traveling, food, pets, beauty, etc. I am pretty sure that there are more than 100,000 Thai people sharing their vision on this website.
Clay - I feel the absolutely best website is my gaming World of War craft site wow.allakhazam.com – All WOW Gamers use this site and allows you to find anything and everything related to your quests and upgrading your character.
Patrick - Slashdot.org – Been reading it every day since the late 90’s. Their quote says it all, “News for Nerds. Stuff that Matters”.
Aon – My all time favorite website is computerworld.com because the website has many of good computer white papers, up-to-date IT news and blog for IT persons to post any IT stories.
Renee – Facebook.com – I like this website because I can talk with my friends and play many games. We can also update the status of each other and share many things such as pictures and videos.
Joe – My favorite website would be filehippo.com. This site provides many basic software programs. You can find many freeware programs such as anti-virus, drivers, etc. This benefits me when I need to find the newest freeware version, including the older versions as well.
Flora - DeviantArt.com - It is a fabulous site which features the artwork of many extraordinary artists. From photography to illustrations to animation, there is always something amazing or a little different than the norm that is showcased.
Matthew - I like hulu.com, high quality video for free. You can watch some current television shows for free (the office, family guy) and also all sorts of different types of Movies (Starship Troopers – “Officers training! – All the way!)
David – My favorite site is Google.com because I always get an answer I am looking for, unless some funny request like “where is my girlfriend”
Michael – streamingradioguide.com because you can always find something to listen to no matter what your tastes or the mood you are in.
Jonathon – mmo-champion.com – It’s for a game that I play (we’ve all heard about it, World of Warcraft). Very informative. I rarely find myself going to other sources for info about the game and the User Forums are great. They link anything and everything about news and upcoming events on their homepage and stream live videos of these events all the time. Put together really well and their support/dev team are exceptionally great in responding to questions
So tell us.. what is your favorite website, the site that is part of your daily ritual, and why?
