How to Create an Effective Campaign through Facebook Ads
Author: Tiara Rea
If you weren’t already aware, Lunarpages Web Hosting proudly offers up to $50 Free Facebook® Ads credits! These advertising credits can be used to promote your small business, niche website, or any specific products or affiliate relationships through Facebook’s incredible network of potential customers.
Obviously, we are very excited to be able to offer these free online advertising credits to you through Facebook Ads! And now we would also like to give you some tips on how to create effective advertising campaigns online through Facebook’s unique network.
Step 1: Choose Your Product(s)
Firstly, you are going to need to decide what you’d like to advertise on Facebook. Some things you may want to consider:
- What is your best-selling product?
- What product fits into the Facebook audience type?
- What product already has design creatives prepared? (i.e. landing pages, custom banners, logos, coupons, etc)
- What product are you most interested in selling?
Answering these questions will help you choose the perfect product or service to advertise. For example, if you sell audio books, you might have more luck in Facebook promoting your most popular titles or a Buy-One-Get-One offer to entice potential customers to click through.
Step 2: Write an Eye-Catching Title
When you create an advertisement on Facebook, there are a few things you will need to write: the first line of any ad is your Title. The Title is the first thing your potential customers will see, so you should strive to make it interesting or thought-provoking in some way. Consider yourself in place of potential customers: what would make you click through an online advertisement? Some other things you may want to think about when constructing a title:
- Try phrasing the Title as a question: i.e. “Looking for Discount Shoes?” instead of “Discount Shoes”
- Include special promotions: i.e. “Designers Shoes 50% off” or “Save $25 on Designer Shoes”
- Say something unusual: i.e. “Hate Designer Shoes?” -you’ll have a chance to elaborate in the body text!
Step 3: Write Informative Body Text
The important information of your Facebook Ad comes in the body text, where you have 135 characters to sell yourself! Try to fit in any/all of the following:
- Your product & company name: i.e. “Lunarpages Quicksite Plan provides affordable personal websites and ecommerce stores” instead of “Cheap web hosting for your personal or business website”
- Any discounts and how customers can take advantage of them: i.e. “Buy any pair of designer shoes for 50% off with code Shoe50″
- If you need extra room, shorten common words: i.e. “and” can be “&”, without can be “w/out”, and “including” can be “incl”
Step 4: Target Your Customers
Facebook Ads allows you to target customers on as broad or narrow a scale as you’d like. Consider the following attributes for targeting potential customers:
- Geographical Location (in your neighborhood or around the world)
- Age
- Gender
- Keywords (i.e. if you are selling hosting, you could target web designers, programmers, and computer techs)
- Education Level
- And more!!
Step 5: Set Your Budget & Finalize Results
How much do you want to spend on your advertising campaign? Remember, you get up to $50 free Facebook Ads credit through Lunarpages, so make sure to add that into your budget. You can budget based on a daily cap (i.e. Only spend $5/day), based on a date period (i.e. Only run the campaign from December 23 to December 26 for Christmas shopping), and you can even choose to run ads based on Cost Per Click (CPC) or Cost Per 1,000 Impressions (CPM).
After that, you’re done!

Excellent post! I’ve heard a lot about “social media” marketing lately but never really understood it. Thank you for a very informative lesson.
