Author: Mitch Keeler
In need of a way to add Google products or services to your blog or web site? That can now be done, with Google Web Elements. This new service will allow you to embed some really cool tools and services from Google; all you have to do is copy, paste and then publish.
To use any of the Google Web Elements, you just need to follow these steps:
- Go to the Google Web Elements web site and choose the element you want to add to your layout.
- Customize the settings you want for your element. You’ll see a preview of the element exactly as it will appear on your web site.
- Copy the code for it, and paste it into your web site.
What tools are there currently for you to use?
Calendar – This element will allow you to embed a Google Calendar on your web site to show your visitors important dates and events.

Conversations – A part of Google Friend Connect, the conversations element will make it so visitors can post and share comments to each other.

Custom Search – Get your own Google powered search box for your own domain name. You can also earn revenue from it if you have a Google AdSense account.

Presentations – Show a slideshow of a presentation you have created via the Google Docs service. They can check it out, without ever leaving your main web site.

News – Powered by Google News, you can show the latest headlines on any number of different topics.

YouTube News – Add the YouTube News element to your site so visitors can see the latest YouTube videos from your favorite news source.

Maps – Embeds a Google Map into your web site, giving visitors a location of your business, headquarters, or any other place you want to point them to.

Spreadsheets – Add the Spreadsheets element to show a table of information to your site’s visitors. No matter how often you update the table in Google Docs, visitors see the latest version.
These Google Web Elements that you can add to your web site are useful in a number of ways. For example, if you own a business – you can use the Maps element to give people a map of your location, right on your front page. The key here is you can customize these to fit your needs, and deliver your web site visitors a little more dynamic content.
