Our Series 3 WordPress Theme Design competition was a blast! Just like in previous contests, we had so many talented WordPress web designers working round the clock to produce some of the most amazing Free WP Themes in the world! All in all, we had 97 free WP Themes that we can now distribute to you guys! Go ahead, download away.

And now, for the big announcement of the winners:

First Place Winner: NewBlue by BlogDesignStudio!!

NewBlue dominated the final voting round, and since a lot of our staff voted for it too, it was a clear winner.

BlogDesignStudio described this amazing theme as “simple”, and we all agreed that this is why it was such a popular choice – easy to use, easy to view, and easy to enjoy! This theme is sleek, a little bit techie, and very concise.

BlogDesignStudio has won $1,000 and 5 Years Free Web Hosting for this outstanding free WP Theme! Congratulations, guys!!

Second Place Winner: Floral Day by SimplyWP!

Floral Day not only won Round 4 of our weekly votes but accumulated over 300 community votes and 35% staff votes, pushing it up from 3rd place to 2nd.

SimplyWP produced some other gorgeous designs for the contest too, two of which were included alongside Floral Day for the chance at the final round. SimplyWP also submitted:

Third Place Winner: Styleicious by ThaSlayer

Styleicious is just that – full of style! This was a clear Top 3 from the start, and our staff and techies adored this theme too. It utilizes an ajax rating and commenting system, ajax search and ajax navigation systems, and has an all-around clean design.

ThaSlayer has won $100 and 1 year free web hosting! Congrats!

With this contest, we also allowed our CEO and Staff to choose 1 theme they thought was the best, even if it never made it to a voting around. Both of these contestants below won 1 free year web hosting for their amazing efforts!
