Lunarpages Three New Plans

So the big excitement here at Lunarpages this month was the introduction of three new web hosting plans for our customers! But the interesting news about these plans is…they’re not exactly web hosting.
Let me explain – we now simply offer a Domain Registration plan and two Email Hosting plans! The domain plan is for those of you who have been asking us, “I just need to register a domain but I don’t want to host anything yet”. We really disliked having to say you couldn’t do that and to come back when you were ready to host, so now you can purchase your domain through Lunarpages for $9.95/year. Plus, feel free to add Anonymous Domain Registration, park an unlimited number of domains, update or edit your Name Servers to point to any hosting account in the world, or even upgrade to one of our affordable hosting options at any time.

As for our email plans, you’ll be happy to know we’ve thought of both types of email users – those who only need one professional email address and those who need anywhere from a handful to hundreds.
For just one email address, choose our Mini-Mail Plan, at $1/month. You get 100MB of storage (which can be increased) and you can register a domain with us for $9.95/year or use your pre-registered domain.
For those who need Unlimited addresses, choose Mega-Mail for $2/month. You get 1GB (1,000MB) storage space, unlimited email accounts, unlimited email forwarding and auto responders, and more.
Both email plans come with Spam scanning and protection, webmail, support for POP/SMTP/IMAP, and compatibility with all the most popular email programs, like Outlook/Express, Thunderbird, Eudora, and Netscape. And of course you get our award-winning 24/7 support to boot!

I’m interested for email hosting. Unlimited addresses sounds good. Though 1GB may be fully utilized, can I add more GB if needed?

Hey,
THese mail plans are great! What I would love to see is a mail upgrade plan so that I can use Microsoft Exchange for my mail but continue to use my current hosting services. I am increasingly leaning towards exchange so that I can access all my mail easily from my phone, while I can now it is not nearly as streamlined a process as it could be.

Hey, I am new to Lunar Pages, but really enjoying it! This is without a doubt the best hosting I have experienced! I am glad you are adding new stuff, but please keep the same helpful, smart packages and services you have now, and keep up the great work!

I agree with Scott, Microsoft Exchange would be a great service to add. Yes, I can setup IMAP accounts on my phones, but Exchange offers many additional features, especially calendars and contacts.

I would love to see a web mail option besides SquirrelMail and Horde. I find both of these much clunkier than even Roundcube and especially less friendly than some of the commercial services at Google, Yahoo, etc.

These are nice plans. I wish webmail was something other than Horde or Squirrel. They just don’t measure up to most of the free email service’s GUI.

What would be great would be the ability to have our email on a dedicated serve at a price that is more affordable than they are currently at. It really bites when I get a call from a customer complaining that they can’t send or receive emails from someone because another provider has blocked one of lunarpages mail servers because its being used to send Spam by another user on that server!

Scott and Frank – A lot of people do like Hoarde or Squirrel but like you some customers don’t. I always recommend, if this is the case, to just setup a gmail account and have your mail come through gmail. It’s easy to setup and I absolutely love working in it.
Christopher – Unfortunately, that solution wouldn’t be possible as the cost of the dedicated server even to us would be too enormous for just hosting email. But have you talked to our technical support about this? There may be a way to help you out, so don’t hesitate to ask! Another great place for assistance would be LunarForums.com. Perhaps others have found a workaround for email on a shared server. Or, finally, you might want to look into our VPS Plans, which are priced between Shared and Dedicated (starting at around $40/month).
