WinSettings
By Mitch Keeler
With any version of Windows it seems like we all would like a little more control than Microsoft sends our way. Now thanks to a special deal with Lunarpages and the fine people at FileStream you can get a powerful program to allow that to happen. WinSettings is one of the best power tools out there for the Windows operating system.
You can cleanup your PC’s files that are not being used, schedule maintenance, repair your PC, mess around with your registry, customize your desktop experience, do screen captures and a whole lot more. The entire program is easily accessible via your task bar menu. Just right-click on the icon for it and your good to go.
How can you set WinSettings up to run on startup?
Right-click on the taskbar icon for WinSettings, and then go to the WinSettings Control Center. From there, go down to “Configure” and select the radio box for “Load WinSettings” as the startup command.
How can I change my wallpaper selection?
This one is easy too. Just right-click on the task bar icon, and then go to “Change Wallpaper”. You may need to select a destination folder for it to pick images from, via the WinSettings Control Panel.
What do the “repair” functions do?
By going to the WinSettings Control Center, and then “Repair” you gain access to: Delete Files and Folders, Startup Programs, Cookies, and File Associations. Each you can tweak or edit to make your PC run better.
