Can I just use the Log Analyzer and not the Hosted service?

If you don’t want to insert tracking code into your web pages, then yes, you can use the Log Analyzer alone.

Do I have to install any software on my web server?

No. For VisitorVille Hosted, only a small snippet of HTML code is placed within the web pages that you want to monitor. This HTML code is invisible to visitors to your pages. VisitorVille does not have, or require, any kind of visible link or banner to be placed on your pages. For VisitorVille Log Analyzer, no alteration of your web pages is required.

Does my web server need to have a specific operating system?

No. VisitorVille can track any site, independent of its underlying operating system.

    If you’re already hosting with Lunarpages, just login to CAP via http://account.lunarpages.com and you’ll see a huge graphic advertising the $775 free software and services there. Follow the proper URL and you’re set.

    It is kind of like Sims, actually, which I know from having used VV for years. Really reliable, fast, and unique. I never used another stats program after this because it’s so addicting

    For some reason I could not connect to their servers. I was so disappointed! You guys got me all excited and I can’t connect to the dumb server. :( I’m sure it’s really neat though. Probably doing repairs or something. Have no clue.

    Nick, might give it another shot. Just tested it and seems to be working ok here. Also might sure you are not going VV web site first, you need to login and get this from the Lunarpages CAP.
