SiteScout
By Mitch Keeler
The people at SiteScout are all about making the Web a safer place to be for both you and me. Has your site been infected? SiteScout will let you know if your site has been infected with malware and is attacking your visitors and customers.
If your one of those people who say, “These sort of things never happen to me” then please be aware that it even happens to some of the biggest and best on the Web. According to a recent Seatle P.I. article:
“The numbers are staggering — in April, Yahoo Inc. detected 7.8 billion links served up by search engines that led to compromised sites. In statistics collected by hackers, who were tracking an attack of their own that was discovered last year by Finjan, 500,000 computers had been infected.”
A few wrong choices by searching inside of Google (or any other search engine) could also lead you down a road of misfortune.
“The search engine giant trained its Web crawling software on billions of Web addresses over the past year looking for malicious pages that tried to attack their visitors. They found more than 3 million of them, meaning that about one in 1,000 Web pages is malicious, according to Neils Provos, a senior staff software engineer with Google. “
The neat part about their service is that they will visit your web site as if they were a visitor and check for problems.
Unlike a typical user though SiteScout let you know immediately if we find an infection. Think of them as your secret agents combing through your site looking for bad things. Now you can try SiteScout FREE for 90 days if you are a Lunarpages webmaster! They bend over backwards to make sure that you and your visitors remain safe.

How proactive is SiteScout?
SiteScout identifies unsafe Web sites before people click, warning them about threats before these threats infiltrate their desktops.
How efficient is this going to be?
SiteScout scours tens of thousands of sites and millions of pages daily to discover malware faster and more efficiently than any other method.
How close are they coming to how a real visitor would act?
SiteScout goes places and simulates actions that traditional Web crawlers can’t — automating software installation, filling out Web registration forms, clicking through JavaScript-constructed links, and more.

Interesting service. Going to give them a shot a little later today. Just hope they can protect me, because some of those stories sound pretty bad!

Definitely a cool service I am currently using (signed up last week and have been enjoying their visits to my site every since). I love this bundle, by the way, as I appreciate the PC and website security stuff.
