Author: Mitch Keeler

So with all this buzz going on around the Web these days about social interaction, are you wondering what your Web site can do to join in on the fun? Well, you don’t have to work from the ground up - especially if you have a popular brand or Web site. I don’t want to leave anybody out though, so even the smaller Web sites can join in on the fun as well. Here are a few ways you can add social networking to your own project on the Web.

Create Some Forums for Your Fans

Forums or message boards are the oldest and best way to create social interaction between you and the people who visit your Web site. If you run a successful Web site, chances are you have a lot of people coming to you by the day, hour, minute, and even second. Why not give them a place to hang out and interact with each other?

Setup a Blog - Those Have Nifty Comments

A blog could be another good way to setup some social interaction between yourself and your visitors. Giving them a way to comment on sections of your Web site or articles you might post will make them feel like they are apart of it too. No Web site is create for one person. If that is the case, you will never make it on the Web today. You have to realize you are creating your Web site for the public - so you must satisfy the public’s needs.

Create a Profile for Your Pet Project

There are a lot of folks these days creating Facebook or MySpace profiles just for their Web site or brand. This is another good way to socially interact with the people that are visiting your Web site. If they like you then chances are they will want to be your amigo via the big social networking Web site out there.

These are just a handful are simple suggestions. Have anymore? Feel free to leave a comment and share with the rest of us.

I enjoy Stumbleupon, as Im housebound I can spend many enjoyable hours ‘clicking’ and finding some really interesting sites and links. There is a downside though, you need to do a complete system scan after using it, in order to delete tracking cookies, if you don’t you can guarantee a whole load of spams that you really don’t want.

I am also in love with stumbleupon.com. There is no other way I have found that drudges up the best content on the internet. If I did not have stumbleupon, it would feel like the dark ages of roaming around on the internet and never finding any worthwhile media. Four cheers for the stumble people!

How are some ways I can set up forums for my site? blogs I have no problem with, just wondering how I can install the application. Furthermore, how do you feel about video feeds such as youtube? to show direct videos onto your site, youtube needs to make a way in which the videos can be directly commented on the individual site as opposed to commenting on youtube’s link. This would work wonders with incoming traffic that can view how this video is relative in fashion to your site.

Thanks for the info and help,
