Need a few tips on how to get a lot of marketing and press and you don’t want to have to do too much work? Well you are making it a little harder on me but I have a few good solutions to help you spread the word about your own domain or project.

Make Use of the Forums and Message Boards - There are a lot of forums out there on a lot of topics. Don’t be shy, jump into a community and let them know about you and your domain. You might want to establish yourself a little before you start the plugging - but this is a good way to get a lot more visitors to come to your domain.

Hit Up Your Friends for Links - What are friends good for? Well, they are the easiest group of people out there to hit up for links back. If you have a few friends that have web sites based around the same topics yours is then this should be a given. Ask them to exchange links with you.

Advertise in Your Local Media - I live in a really small town of three people and a goat so getting my name in the local newspaper isn’t that hard. A lot of people forget about local media when it comes to advertising an online business or project. They often have cheaper rates than the world wide guys do and you can get probably just as much attention.

As you can see there are still a few free or cheap was of making your name known out there. Marketing can end up being a very expensive part of any business so it is always best to see what you can get for the lowest price first - and then move on from there.
